Abstract
We report what we believe is the first realization of odd dark beams of fin ite length under controllable initial conditions. We obtain mixed edge-scre w phase dislocations by reproducing binary computer-generated holograms. Tw o effective ways to control the steering of the beams are analyzed experime ntally and compared with numerical simulations.
