Abstract
From the higher plants, our search yielded new steroidal and triterpen oidal saponins, sesquiterpenes and alkaloids. A triterpenoidal compoun d with a novel carbon skeleton is also reported. From the marine algae , new sterols and acyclic diterpene alcohols with interesting bioactiv ity were isolated and characterised.
