A three-storey aluminium space frame is modelled using beam elements with u
nrepresentative rigid joints. Five model-updating experiments are carried o
ut using different sets of updating parameters. All of them are shown to pr
oduce improved predictions, even for modified configurations of the frame.
The set of parameters that on average produces the best results is also con
sidered to provide a physical improvement to the modelling of the joints. (
