Abstract
The polyvalent vaccine Alopevac nas used in prophylactic measures and immun otherapy of Trichophyton mentagrophytes infections in young rabbits. Two in tramuscular injections of Alopevac at 14-day intervals provided good protec tion for 4-week old rabbits against clinical manifestations of ringworm. Th e Vaccine induced the appearance of lesions and reduced asymptomatic T. men tagrophytes infections in affected animals. A 0.2% agueos solution of Imave rol used alone in affected rabbits appeared not to be fully effective. Ther efore, vaccination plays an essential role in prophylactics and control of ringworm in rabbits.
