Abstract
Hypotension is an important complication during haemodialysis, which is ind uced by many factors. Two patients complained of chest discomfort accompani ed by hypotension during haemodialysis. The blood pressure of these patient s fell with the numbers of eosinophils throughout the dialysis sessions. Re ducing the eosinophilia by the administration of a steroid and an antihista minic agent led to a significant improvement of hypotension during dialysis . These two cases suggest that the eosinophil might be an initiator of the cytokine network, ultimately releasing vasodilators, and thus is a cause of hypotension during haemodialysis.
