Abstract
Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury involves activation of multiple cell types, including leukocytes and endothelial cells. The pursuant inflammati on involves diminished nitric oxide production, influx of neutrophils, and myocardial cell injury. Gene-targeted animals provide important clues about the progression of this inflammatory cascade.
