Abstract
A porous metallic film can be fixed onto the surface of Ni(OH)(2) powd ers by the method of electroless plating. A nickel electrode made from modified powders exhibits better characteristics in terms of the acti ve-material utilization, the average discharge voltage and high rate d ischarge. A slight amount of cobalt micro-encapsulation makes a great improvement in the utilization ratio of the active material, while mic ro-encapsulation of the nickel film does not merely enhance the active -material utilization but also the high rate discharge.
