Phytochemical investigation of Ligularia songarica (Compositae) afforded se
ven new bisabolane-type sesquiterpenes. Their structures were confirmed on
the basis of spectroscopic methods, especially 2D-NMR techniques, and compo
und 7 showed stronger antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Pseu
domonas aeruginosa and Salmonella pullorum.
