Nl. Saini et al., On the topological features at the Fermi surface of Bi2212 system revealedby angle scanning photoemission, PHYSICA C, 341, 2000, pp. 2071-2074
Here we report use of angle scanning photoemission spectroscopy using polar
ized synchrotron light to explore the Fermi surface topology of Bi2Sr2CaCu2
O8+/-delta (Bi2212) superconductors. The measurements were made in differen
t experimental geometry to take care of the polarization dependence of phot
oemission transition probability (matrix element effect) and discriminate t
he true features along the high symmetry directions. We find an asymmetric
suppression of spectral weight around M(pi ,0) point indicating coupling of
the itinerant carriers with an incommensurate charge density wave (ICDW) i
.e. stripes, involving modulation of the orbital momentum.
