Abstract
We investigated the role of the states near the Fermi surface for phonon Ra man scattering in the superconducting cuprates. These states can be importa nt for the Raman intensity within the frozen-phonon approximation. This eff ect, however, is absent within the perturbative approach. The discrepancy b ecomes very large in the case of resonant Raman scattering.
