Abstract
An sc electrodeposition (ED) process to obtain good quality YBa2Cu3O7-delta (YBCO) high-temperature superconductor (HITS) films was developed. These f ilms were deposited on SrTiO3 (100) single crystal substrates previously co ated with a thin silver layer (800 Angstrom) that was deposited by chemical reduction. A small amount of Ag (0.7 % in weight) added to the electrolyte bath was shown to improve the quality of the deposited films. YBCO films a fter an appropriate beat treatment present single phase material with an on set T-c similar to 90 K, DeltaT(c) similar to 2 K, homogeneous grain morpho logy and strong biaxial texture. Transport measurements show a metallic beh avior in the normal state and a self-field critical current densities simil ar to 10(5) A/cm(2) at 4.2 K and similar to 10(4) A/cm(2) at 77K.
