Abstract
The influence of MgO substrate thermal annealing prior to YBaCuO deposition has been studied. An improvement in the crystalline quality as well as bet ter critical temperature and microwave surface resistance values have been observed for films sputtered onto annealed (vs unannealed) substrates.
