A few pm thick film of (Hg,Re)-1223 has been formed by mercuration of a pre
cursor deposited at high temperature (800 degreesC) by an aerosol technique
. The deposition takes a few minutes and the mercuration no more than 10 ho
urs. No post annealing treatment is necessary to achieve the optimal Tc (13
3 K). The synthesis conditions of the superconducting film are achieved by
the extrapolation of the thermodynamic conditions under which the ceramic (
Hg,Re)-1223 formed. The fast deposition rate, the high quality of the depos
it and the solid-gas type formation of mechanism of the mercuration make th
is process easy to scale up.
