Abstract
(As0.33Cu0.67)Sr2YCu2Oy was newly prepared. (As0.33Cu0.67)Sr2YCu2O6.88 has a tetragonal unit cell with a = 3.829(6), c = 11.47(1)Angstrom. Annealing t he sample in oxygen led to an increase in the Cu valence as large as 2.38. However, resistivity measurements show that (As0.33Co0.67)Sr2YCu2O6.88 is n ot superconducting but semiconducting.
