Polarized)(AS measurements at the L-3 copper edge were performed on single
crystals of Sr14-xCaxCu24O41 (x=0,12) and on new compounds (Sr,Ca)(0.5)CuOz
grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy. The absorption spectra for these two fami
lies are very similar, and completely different from those observed on CuO2
cuprate compounds. Doping of the thin films is varied in a wide range inde
pendent of the alkaline Sr/Ca ratio.
