Single crystals of the solid solution Nd1+xBa2-xCu3Oy have been grown in Zr
O2/Y crucibles by varying the Cu/Ba ratio of the flux. The amount of Nd on
Ba sites changed between 0.028 < x < 0.68. We studied the growth morphology
and the peritectic melting temperature as a function of x. We conclude tha
t there exist two different solid solution systems, one of 123-type for 0.0
28 < x < 0.30, the other one of 213-type for x > 0.50, and a two-phase regi
on for intermediate compositions.
