Abstract
A layered perovskite oxide, RbLa2Ti2NbO10, was prepared and investigat ed for proton exchange and intercalation behaviors. Its protonated for m, HLa2Ti2NbO10, exhibits the Bronsted acidity and reacts with organic amines. Polyoxonuclear cation, Al-13, was then introduced into the in terlayer by refluxing octylamine-intercalated compound with an Al-13 p illaring solution. These layered oxides were characterized by X-ray di ffractometer, thermogravimeter, FT-infrared spectrometer and elemental analyzer. It is observed that the polyoxonuclear cation-pillared mate rial exhibits a bilayer structure and is thermally more stable than or ganic counterpart at higher temperatures. The surface area of the pill ared material annealed at 400 degrees C was the value of 25.1 m(2)/g.
