The radiation stability of ethylene-propylene terpolymer (EPDM) was studied
. The oxygen uptake method was used for determination of radiochemical effe
cts induced in the polymer during its exposure to gamma -radiation (doses 5
0, 100, 150, 200, 250, 350 and 500 kGy) in air at room temperature. Three t
emperatures (170, 180 and 190 degreesC) were selected for oxidation measure
ments for assessing radiation stability of the EPDM. A derivative method wa
s applied for the assessment of scission and crosslinking contributions at
different gamma -exposures. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reser
