Abstract
Activation of the carbon-fluorine bond is of upmost importance in several c hemical processes. In search of synthetic alternatives to promote C-F bond cleavage in arylic systems, several square planar palladium and platinum co mpounds bearing fluorothiolates and fluorophosphines have been studied. In this paper molecular structures are shown for the following compounds trans -((SC6F5) [P(C6F5)(2) (C6H5)] Pd(mu -SC6F5)(2) Pd(SC6F5) [P(C6F5)(2) (C6H5) ]), cis-((SC6F5) [P(C6F5)(2) (C6H5)] Pt(mu -SC6F5)(2) P(SC6F5)(2) (C6H5)]), trans-((SC6F5) [P(C6H5)(2)] Pt(mu -SC6F5)(2) Pt(SC6F5) [P(C6F5) (C6H5)(2)] ): (Pt(SC6F5)(2) [C6F5SC6F4 P (C6H5)(2)]), [(SC6F5)(2) Pt(mu -SC6F5)(2) Pt( SC6F5)(2)](2-), [(SC6HF4)(2) Pt(mu -SC6(5)HF(4))(2) Pt(SC6HF4)(2)](2-) and [(SC6F4CF3-4)(2) Pt(mu -SC6F4CF3-4)(2)Pt(SC6F4CF3-4)(2)](2-).
