Calculations of the transmittivity of ultrasonic waves in an inhomogeneous
transversely isotropic (TI) medium simulating the elastic anisotropy of aus
tenite steels are given. Attention is focused on parameters of elastic fiel
ds in an inhomogeneous medium. Parameters of elastic fields in thin TI plat
es have been calculated numerically. Numerical calculations of the elastic
wave transmittivity through an inhomogeneous layer of a transversely isotro
pic medium are reported.
