Ma. Ryashentseva et al., The catalytic properties of rock from fumarole mouth and condensates of gases of the Kudryavyi volcano, RUSS J PH C, 74(12), 2000, pp. 1946-1949
A sample of volcanic rock was shown to catalyze dehydrogenation and dehydra
tion of isopropanol. Condensates of volcanic gases of different temperature
s were obtained on three carriers, namely, zeolite, gamma -Al2O3, and cybun
ite. The largest amount of Re and rare elements was observed on zeolite. Th
is catalyst, like that prepared on gamma -Al2O3 and Like the carriers thems
elves, was found to possess predominantly dehydrating properties. Catalysts
on cybunite dehydrogenated isopropanol to acetone.
