Abstract
The effect of atomic centre-of-mass motion on the photoionization of a Lambda-type atom system is studied. The results show that the two low er states of the Lambda-type atom with a given momentum p can form a n on-ionization state. Nevertheless, the atomic motion would result in r edistribution of the ionization and destruction of the population trap ping when the centre-of-mass momenta of the atom have a Gaussian distr ibution.
