Abstract
In a quality assurance project in Westphalia-Lippia more than 200 000 data of surgical patients with one of the following tracer diagnoses have been a nalysed: inguinal hernia, hip fracture and cholecystectomy. Results of the analysis and improvements in outcome are presented. Further developments in the field of quality assurance are being discussed.
