Abstract
In the Arabic inscription on the exterior of the mosque "Cristo de la Luz" appears the year 999, usually understood to signify when the building was c ompleted. However, it might also signify remodelling or rebuilding on that date. The new features might have included the decorative brick facade on t he street and northwest side and the caliphal style domes in the interior. In addition, this paper includes a study of the minarets of Toledo.
