Abstract
IgD myeloma is an infrequent type of multiple myeloma and is characterized by an aggressive clinical behavior and a short survival time. No satisfacto ry treatments have thus far been established. Recently we treated a patient with IgD(lambda)-type myeloma with glucocorticoids, and succeeded in achie ving a complete remission. This case seems to indicate a usefulness of gluc ocorticoid monotherapy for treating IgD myeloma. (C) 2001 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
