We investigate a switching adaptive control scheme based on falsification w
hich is conceptually different from existing switching adaptive control sch
emes. A feature of the proposed localization method is its fast model falsi
fication capability. In the LTI case this is manifested as the rapid conver
gence of the switching controller. By analysing the geometry of localizatio
n we give a complete solution to the problem of optimal localization. (C) 2
