Abstract
Combined cytogenetic, chromosome painting, and spectral karyotyping (SKY) a nalyses in a cast of hepatoblastoma revealed a karyotype of 49,XY,+Y,+der(2 )t(2;3)(q35;q25),der(3)t( q25),+20. Trisomy 1q, 2, and 20 identified in the present case are consistent with the previously reported cytogenetic alter ations in hepatoblastoma. The breakpoints at 1q12 and 2q35 identified ill t his case have also been reported previously as nonrandom changes. The frequ ent occurrence of these rearrangements in hepatoblastoma suggests that they may be of pathogenic significance, (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Inc. All righ ts reserved.
