A comparison of three analytical procedures for the determination of lindan
e, p,p'-DDT and methoxychlor in water suspension during their photocatalyti
c oxidation in the laboratory photochemical reactor was performed. Analysis
of the pesticides was carried out by: liquid-liquid extraction, direct aqu
eous injection, and solid phase microextraction using gas chromatography wi
th electron capture detector, flame ionisation detector, and mass selective
detector. Liquid-liquid extraction has given the best results because of g
ood accuracy, precision, good recoveries of pesticides and the possibility
to determine pesticides and their by-products in aqueous suspension.
