Abstract
The procedures that have been adopted in the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal and Ovarian (PLCO) Cancer Screening Trial are described. These procedures have been designed to ensure unbiased decisions on the underlying cause of deat h for all confirmed or suspected PLCO cancers. A death review committee wit h a nonvoting chair and three experienced reviewers as members has been app ointed.
