Abstract
We have studied the electrochemical properties of several tetrathiafulvalen e (TTF) derivatives suitable to form Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films. Cyclic v oltammetry experiments in organic solution have been carried out in order t o obtain information about the influence of several factors, such as the le ngth and number of alkyl chains in the TTF derivatives, the presence of hyd rophilic groups, and the position of the electroactive moiety in the molecu le. The results were interpreted in terms of intra- and intermolecular inte ractions. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
