REACTIONS OF A TUNGSTEN PHOSPHENIUM ION COMPLEX WITH CARBENOID REAGENTS

The reactions of diazomethane, the silylene fragments Me2Si and Ph2Si, and stannylene fragment Me2Sn with the metallophosphenium ion complex CpW(CO)(2){P(Ph)[N(SiMe3)(2)]} were examined and the new species Cp(C O)(2)W(ER2)P(Ph)[N(SiMe3)(2)] (ER2 = CH2, SiMe2 and SiPh2) were isolat ed and characterized. The molecular structures for the compounds with R2E = CH2 and SiMe2 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffractio n techniques. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science S.A.
