Abstract
Since more than 100 years the German Agricultural Society (DLG) tries to im prove and update the system of quantitative descriptive anlysis with scorin g. The method which was developed by the DLC is used not only for the DLG-q uality competitions but also for many regional contests, official rating of food and inplant controls. Now exists a draft of the German Standardisatio n Organisation demanding the attributive profile analysis is the only non-a ffective technique and every test without sharp division into the 3 steps,, check list of attributes - determining the intensity of every tabulated des criptor - rating/scoring" should be rejected in future. On the basis of 6 p oints of disagreement this demand is shown to be one-sided and exaggerated, If there is a monopoly for the attributes profile analysis with scoring, t he method fixes the target instead of selecting the method according to the requirements.
