Soils from two environmentally and pedologically similar sites, but with di
fferent levels of Pb, Zn, and Cd contamination were selected to investigate
the degradation of isoproturon in microcosm experiment using C-14 techniqu
e. Difference in total pesticide-mineralizations was not observed, whereas
differences in the amount of bound pesticide residues and distribution of 1
4C compounds in the soil profiles were found. Initial and final composition
of the microbial communities were determined by phospholipid fatty acids (
PLFA) and 16/18s rDNA fingerprinting.
