Synthesis and chemiluminescent activity of pyridazino [4,5-b]indole-1,4(2H,3H)-diones

Substituted and non-substituted anilines were transformed to the correspond ing triazole derivatives, which were converted to dimethyl indole-2,3-dicar boxylates by photocyclization. The reaction of diester with hydrazine hydra te gave 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-5-Hpyridazino[4,5-b]indole-1,4(2H,3H)-diones (5) . Some of compounds (5) were found to have chemiluminescent activity in a s imilarly to luminol in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase in a basic solution.
