Abstract
The susceptibilities of C3H/HeN, BALB/c, and C57BL/6N mouse strains to grou p B streptococci (GBS) infection were evaluated. C3H/HeN mice developed sev ere polyarthitis; mild lesions and no lesions were observed in BALB/c and C 57BL/6N mice, respectively, a correlation between the severity of arthritis , the number of GBS in the joints, and local interleukin-6 and interleukin- 1 beta production was evident.
