Abstract
The effect of irradiation on permeation and diffusion of hydrogen in low-ac tivation martensitic stainless steel, F82H-mod, was investigated in three e xperiments: 1. Permeation and diffusion of Hz in pre-irradiated specimens, showing decr ease of both the properties with increasing dose. The diffusion results wer e evaluated in terms of a saturable-trap-model. 2. Permeation of deuterium under simultaneous proton irradiation, showing e nhancement of permeation by irradiation. 3. Diffusion of protons which were implanted to various depths in a 800 mum foil. These results were compared to H-2 gas diffusion in virgin and pre-i rradiated material. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
