Abstract
Synthesis of the compound Na[RuNOCl4H2O]. 2H(2)O is reported. The complex w as investigated by IR spectroscopy and X-ray phase and diffraction analyses . Crystal data: a = 7.0103(7), b = 11.133(1), c 12.843(1) Angstrom, beta = 99.076(8)degrees V = 989.8(2) Angstrom (3), space group P2(1)/n, Z = 4, d(c alc) = 2.348, d(exp) = 2.340 g/cm(3) The structure consists of [RuNOCl4H2O] (-) complex anions, Na+ cations, and crystallization water molecules. The c ompound crystallizes as dark red concretions formed after prolonged storage of a saturated aqueous solution. The crystals are hygroscopic and spread w hen stored in air.
