Abstract
The antituberculosis activity of fully-aromatized quaternary benzo[c]phenan thridine bases prepared in our laboratory was tested under the Tuberculosis Antimicrobial Acquisition and Coordinating Facility (TAACF) program. This review summarizes our syntheses of these bases and discusses their structur e-activity relationships against primary tuberculosis. (C) 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
