Abstract
To prevent laparoscopic colectomy complications and for broader treatment o f advanced colon cancer, better intervention techniques are necessary. The purpose of this study is to perform safe lymph node resection, to prevent p ort site recurrence and to show the importance of laparoscopic no-touch tec hnique. We will report on the retroperitoneal approach(RPA)(1)2)3)4)) as a way to improve the problems associated with laparoscopic colectomy. There w as a total of 166 colectomy cases and of these 71 cases had RPA. These were 120 malignant cases and 46 benign cases. We have not experienced of port s ite recurrence. The above complications are avoided when the no-touch techn ique with RPA is used for advanced cancer. These improvements are very valu able in laparoscopic colectomy.
