Abstract
The immediate accessibility of all relevant examination results is the foun dation of effective and consolidate decisions of physicians in diagnostics and therapy. A growing number of departments and ambulatory care settings c ollect their clinical data in electronic form. But until now the remains th at different sections of a hospital use different non-compatible systems. F urthermore they produce a great variety of different data-types, e.g. text, images, video and audio data, which are stored in different database syste ms. The aim of the electronic patient record system TBase2 is to overcome these disadvantages by using web-technology prototypically in the Charite intran et. TBase2, was designed in the transplantation domain but the approach is easy to generalise for all medical fields. It enables authorized physicians to access all data of his patients at any time via an intuitive graphical user interface based on the Internet Explorer in the secure environment of an intranet.
