Jt. Bohlen, ChemGuide and PublishersGuide - new dedicated search engines of the FIZ CHEMIE BERLIN on the Internet, NFD INF-WIS, 51(6), 2000, pp. 351-354
Search engines and directories are widely used for retrieving information f
rom the vast variety of Internet pages. However, due to differing policies,
search modes and coverage, search results from various public services dif
fer significantly in size and content. ChemGuide and PublishersGuide Intern
et Search Engines offer a unique combination of well-defined pre-selected W
eb sites with an easy-to-use database interface featuring sophisticated ret
rieval functions. Thus, they increase substantially the quality of Internet
search results. ChemGuide and PublishersGuide offer full-text searches of
all pages of the pre-selected sites on one server. Retrieved documents can
be viewed within the search engine and all hit terms are highlighted on the
screen.
