We present an analysis of time-dependent transport through coupled double q
uantum dots. Analytical formulas are derived for the current-voltage charac
teristics of the time-dependent photo-assisted tunneling. The resonance fea
tures are observable in both the amplitude and the phase shift of an ac cur
rent. We also point out the importance of self-consistent calculation in th
e internal potential for constructing a gauge-invariant quantum transport t
heory.
