Pancharatnam phase in a mesoscopic Josephson junction (Mn) in the presence
of a single-mode quantized electromagnetic field is investigated. It is sho
wn that when the field is initially prepared in a pure coherent state and t
he junction initially in its lowest energy level state, the time evolution
of the Pancharatnam phase exhibits the interesting collapse and revival phe
