Abstract
An abietane-type diterpene, named vitetrifolin A, and two labdane-type dite rpenes, named vitetrifolins B and C, were isolated from the acetone extract of the fruits of Vitex trifolia L. (Viticis Fructus; Verbenaceae) along wi th three known diterpenes, rotundifuran, dihydrosolidagenone and abietatrie ne 3 beta -ol. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the bas is of spectroscopic analysis, X-ray crystallographic analysis and chemical evidence. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
