Abstract
A population of Parthenium hysterophorus collected in Salta Argentina affor ded two ambrosanolides, 2 beta -hydroxycoronopilin and 1 alpha ,2 beta ,4 b eta -trihydroxypseudoguaian-6 beta ,12-olide, as well as five known others. Plants of the fructification from those transplanted from the Puna Argenti na at 1200 m over the sea level produced hymenin. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
