Abstract
The enantioselective hydrogenation of ethyl pyruvate to (S)-ethyl lactate o ver Pt/Al2O3 catalyst was investigated using the new modifier beta -isocinc honine (40%ee) which has oxazatwistane structure. These studies supply addi tional evidence for the widely accepted reaction mechanism.
