Abstract
Mixed Al2O3-MgO catalysts were prepared and characterized. The catalyst aci dity can be controlled by varying the calcination temperature and by impreg nation with fluorine or sodium compounds. In the reaction of 2-propanol, th e dehydration rate constant increases with the calcination temperature and the amount of impregnated fluorine, whereas reverse results occur with an i ncrease of impregnated sodium compound.
