Solutions of 3-amino-N-methylphthalimide and 3-(dimethylamino)-N-methylphth
alimide in the binary solvent heptane-hexanol were used as examples to perf
orm a spectrochemical study of statistical regularities of formation of the
electronic spectra of ternary solutions. Data on the band shifts produced
by first hexanol molecules entering the nearest environment of aminophthali
mide molecules, and on the equilibrium constants of elementary resolvation
acts were obtained, and resolvation centers were determined. The contributi
ons of local and bulk interactions in formation of the optical properties o
f the solutions were estimated. The resulting data were compared with the k
nown data on the resolvation of the same aminophthalimides in the binary so
lvent heptane-pyridine.
