Abstract
The anatomy of the kidney is discussed with emphasis on points of interest to the interventionalist. A very brief review of the embryologic developmen t of the kidney is provided as background for the discussion on gross anato mic considerations and variations in anatomy as they pertain to position an d number. Renal vascular anatomy is discussed, including venous and arteria l variants.
