M. Hiraiwa et al., Single crystal growth of trivalent ion conducting aluminum tungstate-scandium tungstate solid solutions, SOL ST ION, 136, 2000, pp. 427-430
A modified Czochralski (CZ) single crystal method was developed for the gro
wth of aluminum tungstate-scandium tungstate solid solutions. The crystals
were transparent and a satisfactory quality was ensured by polarizing micro
scope measurements. Both Al and Sc were identified by electron probe microa
nalysis (EPMA) measurements and the grown single crystals were identified t
o be solid solutions. The trivalent Al/Se ion ratio in the single crystal s
olid solutions was accurately determined from the lattice parameters calcul
ated from X-ray powder diffraction analysis. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
